Arimbi Heroepoetri stands as a resolute champion for environmental causes, human rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of indigenous communities. Her unwavering dedication spans over two decades, advocating for justice and amplifying the voices of marginalized groups. Arimbi’s journey in the environmental realm commenced at the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia/WALHI) as an advocacy staff after completing her bachelor’s degree in environmental law from Padjadjaran University in 1988. Defying norms, she pursued postgraduate studies in the same field in Canada, underscoring her commitment to her chosen path. Arimbi’s thirst for knowledge continues through courses, training, and seminars both nationally and internationally.

In addition to her tenure at WALHI, Arimbi’s engagements encompass numerous non-profit and governmental organizations including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Mining and Energy, the National Legal Development Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Friends of the Earth International, The Asian Development Bank, Environmental Partners Fund (Dana Mitra Lingkungan), International Forum on Indonesia Development, Indonesian Consumers Foundation (Yayasan Lembaga Konsumen Indonesia/YLKI), National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan), Ministry of Environment, and Expert Staff to the Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI.

Amidst her packed schedule, Arimbi persists in research, writing books, and serving as a resource person and moderator in discussions touching on environmental and humanitarian matters.

Presently, Arimbi anchors at Coaction Indonesia as the Head of the Supervisory Board. Collaborating with the Coaction team, she furthers her pursuit of expediting renewable energy for a brighter future.
