A former GIS analyst for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ Task Force for Accelerating New and Renewable Energy, he charted renewable energy prospects in Indonesia’s remote corners. In the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Azis meticulously analyzed mineral mining compliance within forest zones.

Azis, a geographer hailing from the University of Indonesia, capped his studies with a project employing GIS and remote sensing to unravel urban land subsidence dynamics. Since 2018, his advocacy fervor has focused on sustainable biofuel policies and elevating sustainability standards in feedstock supply chains. An avid advocate for clean transportation policies, Azis extended his influence through the ICCT learning exchange program in California, U.S.
